Five Diamond Siberians
| Allergies and the Five Diamond Kitten... The Siberian Breed has been known to cause reduced or eliminated allergy symptoms in some people. Therefore, some people who are allergic to cats expect to be able to buy a Siberian with no problems, or a guarantee that if they have problems, we will stand behind the “hypo-allergenic” claims. Five Diamond Siberians does not make any guarantees that our cats (or any cat!) are hypo-allergenic. We know that some individuals (including one of the breeders here in our house!) that react to other cats do not react to Siberians. But we also know that some people will react to Siberians, either at a reduced level, or at the same level, as they would to any other cat. We do not guarantee that you will not be allergic to our cats! You need to be aware of this going in, and you need to be wary of any other breeder that claims otherwise. |
| Interested in ALLERGY TESTING? We offer allergy testing for our Siberian kittens for those requesting VISITATIONS. This involves a personal visit with one or more cats, requires that the tester snuggle the cat against his/her neck and face for 30 minutes and then wear those same clothes for 8 hours. Our experience, as is typical with other breeders, shows us that 80 - 90 % of testers will not react to the Siberian. We will NOT sell a cat to a home with known allergies without an allergy test.
